Hoping
Hope is something that is hard to build, yet so easy to crush.
It's like a skyscraper.
You can find the most tough and rugged materials to build the tower, but with just enough force,
the whole thing can come crushing down.
It's so strange, building your hopes with so much anticipation and excitement.
It makes you so oblivious to anything that can potentially go wrong.
But you don't pay attention to that. All you pay attention to is how to make sure that everything stays strong.
Some say that hope is for the hopeless, how hope is just a mistaken idea of the possibilities of happiness.
And once your hopes do get crushed, you end up believing those statements.
What could I have done? How was I so naive?
How could I have stopped this from happening?
These are the questions that you throw on yourself, without being able to find any answers.
You wallow within your pain and sense of stupidity,
wondering how you ever thought that your hopes would possibly come into fruition.
Day by day, you continue to think about it, even when you don't want to.
You start to miss what you had and wish you could have another chance.
But you knew deep down that those chances were never coming back.
No matter what you do or what you think, the outcome is inevitable and cannot be changed.
The frustration consumes you, and you don't know what to do.
You don't know how to feel, how to act, what to say.
All you can think about is your mistaken idea of what you wanted was never actually going to happen.
But after a long time of thinking...something comes together
Something makes sense
It is then that you realize that the key to your true happiness was never actually gone
It was waiting for you to find it.
Hope is a natural feeling that was meant to be had
There will be times that you hope something will happen, yet it never does.
But that's the beauty of it.
Your hopes are what drives you to make something a reality.
It's what makes you strive to have what you want.
Sometimes it'll leave you flat on your face.
But that doesn't mean that your hope was worthless.
It was a symbol of your ambition, and that holds much worth.
I have hoped for so much, and ended up with nothing.
But that's okay.
Because what didn't work once doesn't mean it won't work the next time.
I made the mistake in believing that hoping for something was just a waste of time.
But I couldn't be more wrong.
I will continue to hope and dream, and I'll continue to have those hopes crushed.
But it's the hope that makes the idea worth the risks.
Because when you achieve your idea of happiness, all based on your hope,
It makes it worth it.
It's like a skyscraper.
