Movie review: The wolf of wall street
After watching "The Wolf Of Wall Street", I had a perfect blend of being impressed, and feeling a bit let down. The film centers around the life of a stockbroker named Jordan Belfort. All his life, Belfort had a vivid dream that he would be rich. No matter what it took, or who he had to screw over, he was going to become rich. Although he achieved his lifelong goal, Belfort was subdued into the life of divorces, drugs, and an unstoppable hunger to become even more rich. The more money Jordan got, the more uncontrollable he could be.
Before we get to what I liked, I'm going to start off with what I didn't like. First off, I felt like the film dragged on a lot. I personally don't believe that this should be almost 3 hours long, because there were some very unnecessary footage that viewers don't have to see at all. Along with that, there were parts in the movie that were quite difficult to understand. I'm not saying that the entire movie is this way, but there were some parts that weren't very understandable. I ended up stumbling upon theses parts and tried to figure it out myself. Even with all of this said, there is still much to like about the film. For starters, DiCaprio amazes once again as he takes the role of Jordan Belfort. He simply nailed the part, with every smirk, laugh, and hungover face that was featured in the movie. Jonah Hill also did a great job in his supporting role, bringing a lot of humor and laughter into the film. Also, Martin Scorsese did a fantastic job of directing, giving us a great view at the life of this crazy, drug-addict millionaire.
Overall, "The Wolf Of Wall Street" is a movie that you're either going to enjoy or be disgusted with. I personally enjoyed the movie as a whole. Even though it did have some notable flaws, it still turned out to be a great film.
Overall: 7/10
