Liam Neeson never seems to disappoint when it comes to action/thriller films. “Non-Stop” is no exception.
The movie is about Bill Marks, a former police officer who is now an air marshal. Marks decides to take a flight from London, all the way to New York. Everything seems to be going well, until he receives a text message during flight. The person who sent Marks the text is unknown, but his ambitions were quickly realized. The person wants 150 million dollars linked to an account number that he sends to Marks, and if he does not co-operate, one person on the plane will die every 20 minutes. In this captivating thriller, Bill faces questionable decisions and also faces troubles from his past to figure out who is the mastermind behind this plan.
The first thing I would like to get out of the way is that I am a huge fan of Liam Neeson. He has become legendary actor in the action genre, and he never seems to disappoint when delivering a stellar performance. He was absolutely fantastic, along with the rest of the cast. The plot itself is very unique, and innovative. It makes you wonder who is really behind all of the havoc, every minute of the movie. Sometimes you would think you knew who it was, and shortly after you’d be flat-out wrong. It was extremely interesting to continue testing my detective skills, even though I was horrible at it. To put this entire movie on a giant plane in the air, with more than 100 passengers on board, makes an ideal setup to create a “who did it?” scenario.
I know what some of you are thinking, and I can tell you right away, the action is awesome. Even at 61 years old, Neeson delivers punches and kicks that can still make you shiver. Every bone-crunching slam to the wall, or every bullet that whizzed by made the film sound like you were up there with them.
Even though there is a lot of great things to like, there was one major problem that I had with the movie: the ending. I am not saying that the ending was bad, it was actually really good. It was a particular part of the ending that I disliked, a part that was very, VERY unrealistic. I am all about cool action and crazy stunts, but that one part was just too unrealistic. Is it enough to make me not like the movie? NOW WAY. There are other flaws with the movie that I won’t go over, because they are pretty minor.
Overall, “Non-Stop” is a joy to watch, especially if you’re a fan of action or thrillers. You will be at the edge of your seat throughout the whole movie, and you won’t be disappointed.
